Gulf Oilfield Supplies and Services (GOSS), one of the leading locally-owned oilfield service companies in Abu Dhabi, was founded in 1971 to respond to a need for the Oil and Gas industry in the Emirate and the Middle East region.
Its journey started as an agent for drilling mud chemicals in the area operating under the Oilfield Division of Dubai-based Gulf General Trading (GGT), a member of Rodan Group of Companies. In 1976, GGT-Oilfield Division was established as a separate entity bearing its current name, Gulf Oilfield Supplies & Services, and included 24/7 fishing/milling services and drilling down-hole tool rental services.
From the oilfield trading and fishing/drilling tool rental services in the ’70s, serving the operations of major Abu Dhabi OPCOs, GOSS gradually expanded its activities to include rental/fabrication of storage tanks (cylindrical and rectangular) and silos, provision of fishing/down-hole tools repair and maintenance services to other service companies, distribution of FMC Fluid Control materials, and sale of hard-facing (tungsten carbide/inserts) materials.
GOSS has also operated in many other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Pakistan, and India. It has provided its services to the construction and chemical industries as well.
On 16th March 2014, GOSS partnered with Al Ghaith Energy which the latter took the full management control of the company.
In May 2015, Al Ghaith Energy fully acquired GOSS and had 100% ownership of the company.
